I aim to support you in a way that helps you access what you need from the sessions. It can
feel quite scary at first coming to a new place and being with an unfamiliar adult, sometimes
doing something you’ve never done before for the first time.
Firstly, it’s important to remember that this is for you and what you need. From us meeting
for the first time we can work out how we are going to do this together. Because you are the
only expert on yourself, there is no wrong or right, nothing you bring is too big, small or ugly and
there will be no judgement. The most important thing for both of us is you feeling okay.
Sometimes we can do this by talking and sometimes it helps for us to be more creative,
always mindful of what feels right for you in that moment.
I am able to use my experiences of working with young people to support you with your
challenges. Sometimes the things that we’re finding difficult can be seen by others in our
behaviour, which can affect our relationships with our family , school pr friends and affects our self
esteem and mood. Also, there are sometimes other things to consider such as learning
needs, trauma and neurodiversity. I have experience of these and will use this to inform our
way of working together.
If you’d like to meet for a short chat to see how we can work together please contact me

"Our daughter became withdrawn and unhappy towards the end of primary school. After some issues with friendships/ bullying and feeling different from her peers, her self esteem had plummeted and she was self harming and having suicidal thoughts,
When we struggled to obtain the right mental health support for her, we decided to go
down the route of private therapy. This was the best decision we made.
From her very 1 st session with Leala, our daughter felt at ease and comfortable with her and I recall her coming out beaming (previous counselling sessions in school had not gone well). Because Leala made her feel so at ease, our daughter was able to start opening up and talk about her feelings and events that had led to the decline in her mental health. Leala gradually helped our daughter to make sense of her feelings and thoughts and we saw her confidence start to return.
It was also Leala who suggested that we sought an assessment for autism. Having met all her milestones and being bright academically, it wasn’t something we had considered. I am so glad we followed Leala’s advice. Being diagnosed as Autistic last year has really helped our daughter to understand and embrace her neurodiversity. Although our daughter still struggles with anxiety and school, she is a much happier, more confident person now.
Leala is a kind and caring person and has gone above and beyond. She has attended
school meetings to share ideas with how the school can better support our daughter.
I am very thankful to Leala for what she has done and continues to do. I can wholly
recommend Leala to anyone who is struggling for whatever reason, and is thinking of
considering private therapy."
